Below is a list of commonly asked questions regarding out projects. Please take a look to see if we can answer your question below. If you still have questions or would like to talk to us about your project, please contact us.
What kind of media do you produce?
Why should I consider video as part of my marketing efforts?
How much do video projects cost?
Our pricing is based on how much work is required to achieve your goal. A very general rule is that video costs $1,000/minute. This can change drastically from project to project so please do not plan budgets around this figure. We are more than happy to talk with you and come up with a more precise price.
What kind of equipment do you use? Why should I care?
Cameras: Our Canon C100s and DSLRs are unbelievably reliable. They provide fantastic colors and are great performers in extreme low-light environments. The resulting image is incredibly pleasing with accurate skin tones.
Lenses: Our Canon L-Series lenses have a focal range up to 400 mm. These lenses can’t be matched in their ability to capture extremely sharp and beautiful images.
Audio: Audio is arguably the most important part of video. Offering a crisp, clear sound to accompany your beautiful image are what make a show-stopping video. We offer a variety of quality, reliable audio solutions. We also collaborate with independent sound engineers.
What kind of editing software do you use? Why should I care?
Our office houses all of our editing and post-production equipment. Three sophisticated editing stations house Apple Mac Pro Towers, described by Apple as being “built for creativity on an epic scale.” These stations are all connected on a network and backed by a RAID system.
For editing video and photography, we use the urivaled Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop. We also use a variety of third party applications. In short, we use the tools necessary to meet your goals.
What is the lead time for projects?
We prefer to have a month notice before we begin shooting. This allows us appropriate time to schedule the necessary staff and equipment as well as make sure the storyline is in order before beginning to shoot.
That being said, we can be ready to shoot in less than a week and have turned projects around in less than 24 hours. These projects are not normal and usually incur a rush fee but don’t hesitate to give us a call if you need a project completed quickly!
Where do you shoot?
We are based in Brevard, NC, a short 40 minutes south west of Asheville. We shoot mostly in the carolinas but are willing to travel anywhere in the Southeast.
How long does it take to produce the video and deliver a final project?
As with most answers, timelines vary greatly for each project. Some projects can come together in a matter of weeks, while others take months to craft a message, shoot the footage and edit the final video. We will thoroughly discuss timelines with you before any contract is signed.
Who determines the story-line of the video?
We take pride in listening to our clients and crafting an effective message strategy. Many clients don’t totally understand what makes their business unique and stand out until we run through our creative process with them. If you have a solid handle on your messaging, we will happily work with you to make sure it is communicated effectively through your video project. Either way, we want to make sure you walk away with an authentic video that drives results.
When should I promote my video?
You certainly shouldn’t wait until the video is finished to start promoting it. Let your audience know it’s coming and get them excited about it! Depending on the package you purchase from RDP, we can begin feeding you content as soon as production ends. This is the perfect time to start spreading the word.
How should I promote my video?
Your promotion strategy will vary greatly depending on your goals. We usually recommend a prominent placement on your website and promotion through social media to start.
When we shoot a video, we are essentially collecting a raw library of content that is ripe for distribution campaigns. We can pull stills and short video geared toward certain distribution channels. If this sounds a bit overwhelming – let us help! We can put together a package that includes distribution assistance.
